Tara Lynne Holmes

Tara's clogging career started at the young age of 4.  She began as a  mascot for the CSRA Clogging Cuties and later danced with Country Sunshine, both teams under the direction of Connie Hamlin.  In February of 1981, Tara's sister, Pam, opened her own clogging studio, Augusta's Foot Loose and Fancy Free Cloggers.

Since the age of 14, Tara has been directing/instructing her own competition dancers.  She was the director/instructor of the National Champion Clogging Team, Silver Star Express for many years.

In 1991, Tara was invited by Joyce and Jay Ledford to dance on their team, Leather-N-Lace, a young adult co-ed team nationally known for their precision and freestyle clogging.  Leather-N-Lace was comprised of cloggers from five different states, practicing on weekends in Asheville, N.C.  During this time, Tara continued to instruct and dance with her own teams.  It was not unusual to see Tara dance as many as 15 routines at competitions where both groups competed.

In 1999, she was invited by Kerry Thomas to dance on his newly formed team, Dynamite Dolls, from Commerce, GA.  In 2000, Tara underwent major neck surgery due to spinal cord pressure on the brain stem, which involved the implantation of a metal plate.  After many months of rehabilitation and strong determination, Tara was back to her clogging that she enjoyed so much.

Other than teaching classes several nights a week, Tara is employed by Doctors Hospital of Augusta, and attends Stevens Creek Church where she is an active member of the Dance Ministry.  Tara enjoys directing and sharing her love for clogging with others, and plans on a long future with her performing and competition teams.

Here are some of Tara's accomplishments through the years that show her love and dedication for clogging:
