Augusta's Foot Loose & Fancy Free Clogging Studio was organized in February, 1981.  We take pride in knowing

that we have enriched the lives of many individuals for the past 29 years, and look forward to many more.

Our Studio offers family-oriented & structured classes for ages 2 thru adult age.  All classes are

taught by grand champion cloggers. You can join our clogging family for FUN, performing, or

competition.  Clogging is an American heritage that began as a traditional dance to bluegrass music,

but is now danced to pop & show music as a contemporary style with more intricate footwork. At our studio,

we promote, perform & compete with both the traditional & contemporary styles of clogging. Our cloggers also

participate in public & private shows throughout the year. In 2008, our studio was chosen to be

featured in Comcast On Demand's Best of the City program.

Through the years, our cloggers have performed at many local and regional events, and also have

competed in numerous competitions throughout the Southeast with great success.  In 1996,

one of the studio's teams, Silver Star Express, was ranked the top point holding team with

the National Clogging & Hoedown Council (NCHC) in six categories.  That same year, they

were awarded the National Championship Precision and Show Team.  The Silver Star

Express team name was retired in 1999 due to team members leaving for college.

In 2000, the studio formed new competition teams.  The teams began competing successfully

in 2001, winning many Overall Grand Champion awards.  Our teams have qualified to

compete in the Clogging Champions of America (CCA) Showdown of Champions, the

National Clogging & Hoedown Council (NCHC) USA Nationals, and the America's Clogging

Hall of Fame (ACHF) World Championships.

In the studio, our students are encouraged to be goal-oriented and strive to be the best

that they can be.  Dancers are taught to respect other teams and audiences at competitions

and performances.  While clogging is a very competitive sport, it is important to keep a

POSITIVE attitude and most of all, have FUN.  Our cloggers have formed many lasting

friendships within the studio and at other events, including competitions.
